Drum Magnets recycling 9000 Gauss

The 9000 Gauss drum magnet for recycling, with its ultra-high magnetic strength, is suitable for separation of extremely small paramagnetic and weakly magnetic particles from a continuous material flow. Stainless steel that has been processed by a shredder has these slightly magnetic properties, for example, and can therefore be separated in this manner.

In principle, this high-intensity separator is not used for the removal of ferromagnetic (Fe) particles. Fe particles may only be present in the product flow on a very sporadic basis.

6000 or 9000 Gauss drum magnet? The 9000 Gauss unit is used for smaller maximum thicknesses than the 6000 Gauss drum magnet. The 9000 Gauss is not really intended for separation of ferromagnetic particles; as such, these should not be present except very sporadically. The 6000 Gauss can separate (very fine) ferromagnetic particles and also has a thicker, robuster shell.

Removal of stainless steel particles from
0.1 mm
Removal of Fe particles from
0.03 to 1 mm (may only be present sporadically!)
Cleaning Fully automatic and continuous during production process
Magnet system Stationary magnet segment inside rotating drum
Magnet quality
Neodymium – 9000 Gauss on the drum surface
Magnetic field depth Approx. 30 mm
Shell thickness 1 mm (short roller) – 2 mm (long roller)
Options
  • Durable coating on drum
  • Housing with separation plate
  • Vibratory feeder
  • Ex II 3D version for use in ATEX zone 22 external
Working principle The paramagnetic and weakly magnetic particles are pulled against the drum, drawing them out of the product flow. Cleats on the drum then carry these particles outside the magnetic field, where they automatically fall off.
