The 3000 Gauss recycling drum magnets are suitable for separation of ferrogmagnetic (Fe) particles from a continuous material flow.
They are not suitable for separation of weakly magnetic metal particles.
3000 or 1800 Gauss drum magnet? An advantage of the 1800 Gauss drum magnet over the 3000 Gauss version is the lower price. The 3000 Gauss version removes Fe particles from 0.5 mm, and the 1800 Gauss version from 1 mm. Furthermore, the 3000 Gauss version has a 4 mm thick shell, and the shell of the 1800 Gauss version is 2 mm.

Working principle | The magnetic particles are pulled against the drum, drawing them out of the product flow. Cleats on the drum then carry these particles outside the magnetic field, where they automatically fall off. |
